Thank You to All Crews on a Fine Day of Racing!
Next Regatta
Regatta Sunday May 22, 2011
Connecticut Public School Rowing Association
The Cpsra was founded in 2000 by league coaches to promote public school rowing in Connecticut. The regatta is held each year on Lake Waramaug in New Preston, CT. The lake has a six lane fully buoyed 1500m course. Originally there were 6 crews racing in a final only format. This year there will be 11 crews racing in heats and finals.
The regatta offers medals for the top three crews in each category that is fully subscribed. There are also trophies for the winner in the varsity events and an overall team trophy.
Next year's regatta will be held on May 22, 2011.
Seeding Information
Principles of seeding:
• More recent races are more important than older races.
• The closer the race distance is to 1500 meters, the more valuable the result.
• Times over a given racecourse are not significant. Margins between boats are significant.
• All results are counted. A race cannot be thrown out because of additional information (i.e. crew was without a key member, crew did not handle the water well, someone had recently switched sides, etc.)
• Programs who do not submit their results will not gain an advantage by doing so. If information is lacking, it may hurt the crew's seeding.
