Simsbury High School Rowers Welcome New Coaches; First Spring Race this Weekend

Simsbury Crew re-opened the Paine Boathouse on March 9, as athletes and coaches resumed regular practices and workouts in preparation for the 2019 Spring Season.

The team is thrilled that Ann Carabillo, who is in her 30th year of coaching with Simsbury Crew, is serving as Girls Head Coach this Spring and will lead the Girls Varsity crews. Elizabeth Austin, who is in her second season with the team, will be Girls Assistant Coach, and will lead the Girls Junior Varsity and Novice crews.

The team is pleased to announce that Adam Askham has assumed the role of Boys Head Coach, and Andrew Hart has joined the coaching staff as Boys Novice coach. Paul Carabillo, who is in his 6th year with the team, will be coaching Junior Varsity Boys and will also assist with coaching the novice teams.

Simsbury Crew is also pleased that Andrea Krikorian has re-joined the coaching staff as Land Coach, and will manage the land workouts which complement athletes' time on the water.

The team has been practicing daily over the school break, in preparation for the first race of the season: the Tabor/Simsbury Invitational, scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.
